Questions we get asked

How much does a website cost?

It depends on what the site has to do. A well built brochure site for a small business is a very different job from an online shop with hundreds of products, stock control and payment integration. Tell us what you need it to do and we will price the actual work rather than quote a headline figure that changes later.

How long does it take to build?

A straightforward business site is typically three to five weeks from sign off, and an ecommerce build longer depending on how many products there are and what it has to connect to. The thing that usually decides the timeline is how quickly content and images come back, so we agree that up front.

Will my website work on mobile phones?

Yes, and we design for the phone first. Most visitors arrive on mobile, Google ranks on the mobile version of your site, and a site that only looks right on a laptop is losing you the majority of your traffic.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. We will look at what is already working, keep the pages that rank, and put redirects in place so you do not lose search position in the move. Rebuilding without that step is the most common way a redesign ends up costing traffic.

Do you do the SEO as well?

The technical groundwork is part of every build — structure, speed, meta data, schema and a sitemap. Ongoing content, link building and paid campaigns are covered on our digital marketing service, and most clients run the two together.

Do you use AI to build the websites?

Yes, for the parts of a build that are repetitive rather than creative — scaffolding pages, wiring forms, first drafts of product descriptions, alt text across a full catalogue, test coverage. It takes weeks off a project and we price accordingly, which is why a build costs less with us now than it would have two years ago. What it does not do is make the design decisions or ship unreviewed: everything is checked by our team before it goes live.

Who hosts the site and what happens afterwards?

We can host, manage the SSL certificate, take backups and keep everything patched, or hand it over to your own hosting if you prefer. Either way we support the site after launch rather than disappearing at go live.
